The thought of paralysis of a muscle is quite frightening but this procedure has been used successfully in ophthalmology for many years and over the last several years in plastic surgery with minimal to no complications. When used in the forehead and mid-eye brow region, lines are literally erased when the area is treated. Fine lines around the eyes and "crows feet" may also be treated with this modality. Overactive muscle in the neck which can cause banding in the neck has also been treated successfully with >BOTOX® cosmetic injections.
BOTOX® is not permanent, and must be repeated every three to six months. Studies have shown, however, that after repeated treatments, many times the muscle becomes extremely weak and the time between injections can increase.
The procedure itself is fast. Many clients will schedule during their lunch hour for a quick in and out session.
